I preached through Proverbs 1-11 when I was at Severn Baptist. I never came back to Proverbs or really settled on how to handle the rest of the book, but if I had the thematic approach had a lot to comment itself. I like being able to see how Jon worked through the book.
Does Jon have any advice on what resources & commentaries he found most helpful?
Funny you should ask that, Brent. Have we got the post for you!http://www.baptisttwentyone.com/2013/07/helpful-resources-for-teaching-proverbs/
I didn’t see these on the Fairview site. Are they downloadable somewhere?
I am just curious. You said one concern about his appearance ar your “conference” was his statement about jews Muslims etc all being God’s children. Does John 3:16 not apply to jews Muslims etc.? Every knee will bow and every tongue confess Jesus as Lord. If they choose to worship different or have a different ideology does that make them any less His children and His creation? Didn’t God create every thing and every living being? So they are able if they want to believe in Christ and His free gift of salvation. They just choose not to. I have been SB all my life but to see the SBC push religion over relationship scares me.
