One of the B21 Contributors, Nathan Akin, recently planted a church in Raleigh along with Tony Merida and Matt Sigmon. Imago Dei Church began meeting corporately on September 11th. B21 would like to make our readers aware of their multimedia resources.
Check out their Podcast here and their preaching videos here
In addition, over the next few months B21 would like to make some church planting resources available from Imago Dei and other church Plants, such as membership covenants, ByLaws, Membership Processes and more… please let us know if there are any particular resources that would be helpful.
Nineveh is a city that stands out distinctly in our minds. It is the ancient location of God’s grace being
extended to the rebellious Ninevites as well as the location of rebellious Jonah’s angst. The question
for God’s people today is whether or not we resemble this ancient prophet in our engagement (or
disengagement) with the nations? Jon Akin, of Baptist21, and Micah Fries contemplate this issue while
standing in a modern unreached city not too many miles away from ancient Nineveh.
Harran is an ancient city in Upper Mesopotamia that was the center of trade, travel & commerce in its day. It was also the ancient location where God initiated the Abrahamic covenant which ultimately resulted in the Messiah, Jesus, and His Church’s mission to spread the Gospel to all peoples. Jon Akin, of Baptist21, and Micah Fries recently visited that site and offer for us a few thoughts in this video to challenge us in light of God’s original promises to Abraham.
Recently B21’s Nathan Akin had an opportunity to sit down with Matt Papa and talk about his life, theological education, the state of Christian music, musical worship leadership, his new album, and more…
In part 3 Matt talks about Corporate Worship and unbelievers…
This interview will be released in segments… with the entire interview released at the end.
Make Sure to order Matt’s new CD (This Changes Everything which was recently reviewed by B21) today
Disciple-Making International (DMI) is newly established website and resource center that we want to make our readers aware of. DMI is a parachurch organization that exists to “awaken a passion for the glory of God in all nations by encouraging and equipping Christians and churches to accomplish the Great Commission.” Most of the resources on the website are from the pastoral ministry of Dr. David Platt. Dr. Platt is the Senior Pastor at the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama.
DMI is a non-profit organization that wants to use writing, speaking, publishing, events, and many other means to encourage followers of Christ around the globe as they seek to glory God among the nations. We here at Baptist 21 believe that DMI will be a valuable resource for pastors, teachers, and church leaders all around this world. Make sure to check out the Resource Page and the sermons, Secret Church material, small group guides, and family worship guides made available there.
God is using Dr. Platt and the Church at Brook Hills to make an eternal impact both in North America and around the world and we are excited to see how He uses DMI to further platform the gospel for His glory.
