Wow… just… wow. Aguillard’s comments are a prime example of the blatant misrepresentation of both Calvinism and Hyper-Calvinism rampant in certain circles of the SBC. For someone who claims to be educated about Calvinism, he woefully misrepresents it as “hyper”.

What is truly antithetical to the Gospel is lying about fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and what they believe. I’d say I was shocked that such a man is a president of a Christian college, but then I’m reminded that Ergun Caner was too.

It seems that lying and ill-treatment of Calvinists is how Southern Baptist “gentlemen” make a name for themselves in the SBC. Truly sickening.

President Aguillard did a great job of never giving a straight answer on virtually everything. He certainly didn’t help himself out and made himself look deceptive. Furthermore, he has shown himself lacking in talking about theological things. I wish he would have been nailed down on his definition of “hyper-Calvinism.” If he should be a president at all, perhaps he should be a president of a non-religious institution that does no theological education.
